People often ask me, “Why are you interested in serving the Town of Richmond?” For me, the answer begins with family. My grandfather showed me what civic duty looks like on his small dairy farm, never milking more than 17 cows, while also serving as treasurer of the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s League. He used to say he went to bed with the cash box strapped to his arm.
I carried that same spirit into my own career at West Virginia and Cornell Universities, working with farmers, local leaders, and government partners to strengthen agriculture and the communities around it. I managed budgets, secured grants, built programs, and worked with volunteers to bring new opportunities across New York State.
For 33 years, Richmond has been our chosen home. I have served on the Planning Board, the Climate Smart Task Force, the Earth Care Committee, and in leadership roles at the Honeoye United Church of Christ. And now, I feel called to serve as your Town Supervisor.
When I knocked on doors, I heard your concerns: residents feel unheard, ideas have grown stagnant, businesses are closing, and opportunities are slipping away. Repeatedly, I heard the same message: It’s time for change.
Here’s my plan:
First, to listen and learn from residents.
Second, to empower our committees and volunteers.
Third, to promote Richmond as a place for growth and entrepreneurship.
And finally, to protect our lake and open spaces with the best science available.
This isn’t just talk, I have a roadmap. In my first months, I will launch a Richmond Conversation Tour, improve communication from Town Hall, and give committees the support they need. By mid-year, we’ll see progress on the Comprehensive Plan, an Agriculture Advisory Committee, a monthly newsletter, and the return of the Beautification Award. By year’s end, we’ll have a Welcome Wagon for new families and new businesses, a business networking event, and a full Transparency Report so you can see exactly what we have achieved together.
I know this agenda is ambitious. That’s why I’m proud to be running alongside Jim Huntington and Andy Dotson. Together, we’ll bring fresh energy and complementary skills to Richmond.
The truth is, standing still is not an option. If we don’t grow, we decline. Richmond’s greatest resource is its people—your knowledge, your energy, your passion.
So, let’s choose growth. Let’s choose change. That’s why my campaign slogan is: New Vision, Thriving Community. Together, we can build the Richmond we all know is possible—a thriving, united community with a bright future ahead.
Thank you.
