The esthetics of open space and woodlands along with the beauty of our lake make Richmond a unique place to live, work and play. I will be looking for ways to build a sense of the common good between our residents with the following priorities in mind:
Embolden, support and respect our volunteers and volunteer committees. We are blessed with knowledgeable, innovative and energetic volunteers who want to give their time to making Richmond a better place. We must enable and support these volunteers.
Foster meaningful two-way communication by leveraging the power of social media, delivering consistent weekly updates, and organizing engaging informal gatherings that bring people together.
Prior to Town Board meetings agendas should be available on the Town’s website. Within 2 weeks of these meetings, minutes should be posted to the website.
Publish the updated Richmond Comprehensive Plan.
Residents must be heard and respected for their input on the budget making process. Expense and revenue data should reflect historical and current conditions.
Champion science-based environmental practices to safeguard our natural resources for generations to come.
Work with and support the Honeoye Valley Association and other groups in educating the public about evidence-based, best management practices for our lake.
Forge strategic partnerships with local organizations to revitalize lake ecosystems.
Establish a forward-thinking agriculture advisory committee
Craft a comprehensive farmland protection plan.
Identify the processes which stall the development of new businesses. Work cooperatively with all stakeholders to reduce these barriers.
Explore ways to actively support and celebrate existing businesses.
Revive the Beautification Award to spark local pride and honor those who brighten our community.
Create a comprehensive local business directory to boost visibility and strengthen community connections.
Welcome and celebrate new businesses that energize our local economy and enrich the community.
Honor long-standing businesses for their lasting impact and commitment to our community.
Improve recreational opportunities, e.g., Upgrade Sandy Bottom facilities, develop a spray park and pickleball courts.
Investigate options to develop affordable housing for families and seniors.
Foster positive relationships with local, county, state, and federal agencies. Seek grants, partnerships and other funding sources to finance development.
Whether it’s snowmobiling in the winter, birdwatching in the spring, boating in the summer, or leaf peeping in the fall, Richmond offers something for everyone. I’m committed to supporting and preserving these treasured experiences for all to enjoy.
